THE SCHOOL
Situated at 138a Belmont Circular Road is the three storey structure which is built to accommodate four hundred and twenty-five pupils.
This modern edifice was constructed in 1975. Prior to 1970, the school was called Belmont Methodist School, it being adjacent to the Belmont Methodist Church and owned by it. However that structure was gutted by fire in 1970 and the Methodist Board who was experiencing difficulties in meeting the financial requirements for rebuilding passed it over to government. The School thus still enjoys a close affinity to the church.
PHYSICAL PLANT
The structure is ‘L’ shaped in design, consists of a multi-purpose area on the basement level (which happens to be the street level),
a ground floor which houses five sectioned classrooms and the pupils’ toilet. The middle floor also has five classrooms, staffroom and principal’s office. On the top floor is the library, computer room and the five classrooms. Most of the classes have been divided to
accommodate seventeen classrooms.
